Application process with contact details:
One may either fill in the form provided for application in their official website (http://ksandk.com/careers/internship/) or send a mail to [email protected], with your CV.
Duration of internship and timings:
I did my internship after the completion of my 8th semester from 10th of May, 2018 to the 5th of June, 2018.
The working hours of the firm are from 9:30 am to 6:30pm on the week days and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturdays.
However, the nature of the work demands the interns to stay beyond 6:30pm. The office remains open till 11:00pm on all week days.
First Impression, First Day Formalities and Infrastructure:
Initially the interns were introduced to the associates and the staff of the firm, who were very friendly and approachable. There were co-interns from various other law colleges and national law schools.
The firm was a close knit one and the Mumbai branch at Nariman Point was a recent addition to the KSK family.
On the day of joining, each intern would be provided with an agreement to be duly read and signed, a task sheet to keep track of the allotment and submission of works and a separate work mail account.
All work-related communications with the associates were to be done only through this mail account. There was also a strict note of non-disclosure that was informed and agreed upon.
The interns are all expected to provide their identity proof and address proof, on the date of joining.
The office space is well-kept and the interns have a separate cabin. There is also a conference room, where the interns made their presentations at the end of their internship.
Main tasks included preparation of Title Search Reports, drafting, making case notes on pending matters, and research work in Property Law, Civil Law Procedures and Company Law.
Interns were also asked to prepare case law compendiums on various topics which provided a learning curve. At the end of the internship, interns are expected to make a presentation before the associates on an allotted topic.
Work environment and people:
The best feature I enjoyed when I interned with KSK Associates, was the amiable nature of the partners as well as the associates of the firm.
All of them ensured that they spent quality time with the interns, holding discussions and clarifying doubts regarding those matters relating to which they had assigned us works.
The firm worked in a very organised yet stress-free atmosphere, and attended to each of the interns with much sincerity.
No pressure was felt and the members explicitly and readily appreciated quality work.
They even took time off their busy schedule, and taught us the nuances of corporate and property law. There was constant follow-up on every work allotted.
Every work submitted by the interns are evaluated and valuable suggestions are offered for improvement. The firm is the right place for those who seek to learn the subject and its practical side.
One will not have to sit idle at any part of their internship.
It is close to the Marine Drive and there is also a park nearby, for post-work leisurely walks.
Nothing in particular.
Hard work will always be rewarded.
9 out of 10.
Plenty of PGs and hostels are available around. But one must book them, well in advance.
